15. Ly Thuong Kiet – Grade: C- (65.1% - 389) – Below average Basic Attribute scores (Leadership, Attack, Defense & Politics), and good Ranged Troop Buffs combine to make him a weaker overall PvP option. Also has a very high trap trigger buff that is a bit of a double edged sword, it can be good in battle, but could be costly between battles with building new traps.

  13. Recommended Specialty Level: None, he’s not worth investing Runestones because there are vastly superior choices available in the Tavern and Relic Chamber Rewards.

16. Gustavus Adolphus – Grade: C- (63.4% - 379) – Not specifically a wall general, but has skills and specialties that make him a reasonable temporary choice if nothing better is available. He’s a weaker overall PvP option, and not a good permanent solution because his 4th specialty will NOT work when he’s an In-City Defense (Main Wall) General.

  1. Specialist Against: All types of enemy attacks, but strongest against Enemy Mounted Attacks.

  2. Strongest Buffs:

  3. Siege Attack Increase: +45% (+70% w/ Skill Book)

17. Raged King – Grade: D (47.7% - 285) – With only one specialty related to Wall General, he’s not the best choice, but he’s probably better than anyone not on the list. It seems like he’s more of a prize for the General’s Gallery in the Art Hall.

  1. Specialist Against: All types of enemy attacks, but strongest against Enemy Mounted Attacks.

  2. Strongest Buffs:

  3. In-City Siege Attack Increase: +20% (+65% w/ Skill Book and All Troop Attack Increase)

  4. In-City Ranged Attack Increase: +10% (+30% w/ All Troop Attack Increase)

  5. All Troop Attack Increase: +20%

  7. Ranged Range Bonus: +0 (+100 w/ Skill Book)

  8. Siege HP Increase: +10%

  9. Dragon: Not Required

  10. Acquisition: EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, since he’s only available on the Wheel of Fortune.

  11. Culture: Other

  12. Introduced: Unknown (before January, 2018)

  13. Recommended Specialty Level: None, he’s not worth investing Runestones because there are vastly superior choices available in the Tavern and as Relic Chamber Rewards.

18. Richard the Lionheart – Grade: D (44.0% - 263) – Mostly a hospital expander, and I wouldn’t advise using him because his battle bonuses are terrible, and that’s exactly why you’ll need more hospital space. Everyone on this list is much better than him, and even the top 10 PvP generals from each of the four (4) PVP Attack categories (Ranged, Ground, Mounted, Siege) would probably be better.

  1. Specialist Against: Equally bad at defending against all types of enemy attacks.

  2. Strongest Buffs:

  3. Siege Attack Increase: +10% (+35% w/ Skill Book)

  4. Siege Range Bonus: +0 (+200 w/ Skill Book)

  5. In-City Ground Attack Increase: +10% (+35% w/ Skill Book)

  6. In-City Mounted Attack Increase: +10%

  7. Hospital Capacity Increase: +76%

  8. Siege HP Increase: +20%

  9. Siege Defense Increase: +20%

  10. Dragon: Not Required

  11. Acquisition: Relatively EASY (at Tavern Level 27 and above), probably the 9th best option available in the Tavern.

  12. Culture: Europe

  13. Introduced: Unknown (before January, 2018)

  14. Recommended Specialty Level: None, he’s not worth investing Runestones because there are vastly superior choices available in the Tavern and Relic Chamber Rewards.

19. Shajar al-Durr – Grade: D- (37.7% - 225) – Just to compare her when she’s accidentally left on the wall, against whatever Army General with which she should have been switched.

  1. Specialist Against: Strongest against Enemy Ranged Attacks.

  2. Strongest Buffs (at 4-Yellow Specialties Level):

  3. In-City Ground Attack Increase: +10% (+35% w/ Skill Book)

  4. In-City Mounted Attack Increase: +10%

  5. Ground (Movement) Speed Increase: +0% (+20% w/ Skill Book)

  6. Ground HP Increase: +10% (+35% w/ Skill Book)

  7. Ground Defense Increase: +10%

  8. Dragon: Not Required

  9. Acquisition: Fairly DIFFICULT, available in the Great General’s Chest (GGC).

  10. Culture: Arabia

  11. Introduced: November, 2018

  12. Recommended Specialty Level: For most people, 3-Purple or less because very few people will play the game long enough or spend enough money to get this category of army generals to 4-Yellow specialties. However, she’s the best (and only) option for Peace-Time In-City Defense (Main Wall) General. The problem is that her 4th Specialty is not that great. If her 4th Specialty was 200% Resource Production Increase, instead of 200% Food Protected from Troop Upkeep, maybe it would be worth the Runestones. Even if it was so, there are better places to spend Runestones.

Note about DRAGONS: In my opinion, and whenever possible, dragons should be placed on PvP Generals (mostly because I hate moving dragons). VERY few players have five (5) dragons, so the dragons should assigned per the following:

  1. Ranged PvP - Celtic Demon (1st Dragon - Red) or upgrade to Ladon (6th Dragon - Turquoise)

  2. Mounted PvP - Fafnir (2nd Dragon - Purple) or upgrade to Nidhogg (5th Dragon - Dark Blue)

  3. In-City Defense (Main Wall) - Dragon of Thebes (4th Dragon - Gold)

  4. Ground PvP - Norway Ridge (3rd Dragon - Light Blue) or upgrade to Amaterasu (7th Dragon - White)

  5. Siege PvP - Fafnir (2nd Dragon - Purple) or upgrade to Colchian (8th Dragon - Green)

  6. Mounted PvM for Pushing - Fafnir (2nd Dragon - Purple)

  7. Subordinate City Battle (PvP) - Norway Ridge (3rd Dragon - Light Blue)

The Dragon of Thebes (4th Dragon - Gold) is typically assigned to the In-City Defense (Main Wall) General because it offers extra In-City Troop Bonuses. Currently, Dragon of Thebes is the only dragon specializing in the In-City Defense (Main Wall) General.

Please let me know if I missed any good In-City Defense (Main Wall) Generals, or if you have an unlisted general you would like run through the algorithm to get a grade/score.
